Non-sterile disposable syringe filters with PTFE membranes are inherently hydrophobic and ideal for the filtration of nonpolar liquids and gases. Membrane can be made more hydrophilic by flushing with alcohol, followed by water. Excellent chemical compatibility for filtering harsh chemicals that destroy other membrane materials; resistant to solvents as well as acids or bases. Use to filter viscous organic-based HPLC samples or filter and degas chromatography solvents. Ideal for aerosol sampling. Can be used as a moisture barrier for venting applications and vacuum pump line protection. After pre-wetting with alcohol, may be used for fine particle removal of aqueous and mild organic solutions in Ion Chromatography. Syringe filters feature Luer-Lok™ and pressure fitting. They are ultrasonically bonded for reliability and the filter media type is clearly inscribed on barrel. Excellent unit-to-unit and lot-to-lot reproducibility and consistency. The unique concentric funnel shaped barrel increases volume and decreases back pressure.
