The 453 g bottle is a smaller, bench-friendly format of the same Q1-4010 coating, repackaged by KitPackers, an authorized Dow repackager. It suits lower-volume production, rework, and laboratory use where a full pail would be excessive, while delivering the identical Dow material and its documented properties.
Why does the coating contain UV indicators?
UV indicators cause the clear coating to fluoresce under ultraviolet light, allowing operators and automated optical inspection systems to confirm that every intended area is coated and to spot any gaps. This supports quality control on populated boards where a transparent coating would otherwise be difficult to see and verify.
Is Q1-4010 solvent-free, and how is it cured?
Yes, it is a solvent-free, no-solvent-added elastomer, and it is heat-cured with cure controlled by temperature. Time to cure depends on film thickness, oven type, and board population density, so large or densely populated boards take longer because their greater thermal mass requires more time to reach the required temperature.

Dow states that Q1-4010 is UL-, IPC-, and MIL-recognized, making it suitable for applications that require these recognitions.
