EV Battery Lab Supplies & Dry Cleanroom Consumables

Lithium-ion cells are built in air drier than most deserts, and everything that crosses the airlock has to keep it that way. Setting up an EV battery lab means sourcing dry-room PPE, cleanroom supplies, low-water solvents, insulated tools, ESD control, and bench equipment at once, then keeping everything stocked once the line starts consuming it.

This checklist of EV battery lab supplies is built for EV battery manufacturing R&D, lithium-ion battery manufacturing, battery cell manufacturing pilot lines, battery testing labs, and battery dry room operations. Every item links to a live Lab Pro product page. Check what your build needs, set quantities, and add it to your cart, or send the whole list as one quote so our team prices the exact setup you specified.

Whether you are commissioning a first coin-cell bench or supplying a pilot line every week, start here.

Battery Lab Chemicals & Cleaning Solvents

Water is the contaminant a dry room exists to keep out, and solvent is one of the easiest ways to carry it back in. Every bottle that enters the room should list its water content on the spec sheet. Low-water 99 isopropyl alcohol comes first; water-based and acid chemistries stay in the wet lab.

Dry Room Solvents

Isopropyl Alcohol 99%, Cleanroom Grade LP, 1 Gallon

The default wipe-down solvent for dry-room benches, tooling, and electrode-handling surfaces. Water is held to 0.05% max, and residue after evaporation to 0.001% max, so it flashes off without leaving moisture or film. Flammable; store to code.

Isopropyl Alcohol 99%, ACS/USP/NF, 55 Gallon Drum

Once a cell line is running, gallon bottles become a receiving and disposal problem. The 55-gallon poly drum (one 2" and one 3/4" bung) holds the same 0.05% max water spec and suits scheduled bulk delivery.

1

Acetone, Cleanroom Grade Semi LP, 1 Gallon

Strips binder residue, adhesives, and organic films that IPA leaves behind. Assay 99.97% with 0.001% max residue. Water runs up to 0.5% (ten times the IPA limit), so use it for tool and parts cleaning outside the dry room.

$83.11

1

Acetone, HPLC Grade, 1 Gallon

An analytical-grade acetone for QC and characterization labs running solvent-based methods alongside cell builds.

Wet Lab and Process Chemicals (keep out of the dry room)

These chemistries carry water or acid by design. Store and use them in the wet lab or fume hood, never inside the dew-point-controlled space.

Isopropyl Alcohol 70/30 (IPA 70%), USP/NF, 1 Gallon

The 30% purified water slows evaporation and improves surface contact time, which is why 70% is the disinfection grade. That same water content is why it belongs in gowning areas and the wet lab, not the dry room.

1

Nitric Acid 69.5%, Cleanroom LP, 2.5 L

A low-particle grade for wet etching, metal digestion ahead of ICP analysis, and passivation work in battery materials labs. Strong oxidizer; handle in a fume hood with acid-rated PPE.

Battery Dry Room Consumables & Cleanroom PPE

Most battery dry rooms run at a dew point of -40 °C or lower, under 1% relative humidity. At that humidity, static builds fast, and anything that sheds fibers or carries moisture in from outside shows up in the cell. We choose every cleanroom glove, wipe, and garment below for low particulate first, then static behavior, then how fast your battery dry room uses it up.

Chemtronics Coventry ESD Static Control Swabs

For tab welds, cell edges, and fixture recesses a wiper cannot reach. The handle alloy is inherently dissipative, with no coatings or additives, so it works at any humidity, which matters in a dry room.

Precision Tweezers, Tools & ESD Products

In a battery lab, the tool question comes before the ESD question: a metal tip across two terminals is a short circuit. Use insulative tips on energized cells and save metal precision tools for unpowered parts and BMS boards. Static control still matters, because a dry room at under 1% RH charges people and surfaces fast, and that charge pulls particles onto open electrodes and can reach BMS electronics.

Battery Lab Equipment & Accessories

The capital line of your battery lab equipment list, and the battery manufacturing equipment that is hardest to swap once a process is qualified. Choose these around the chemistry you actually run: lithium-ion electrolyte forms hydrofluoric acid when it meets moisture, and that one fact changes which hood, glassware, and storage you can use.

OHAUS Pioneer Analytical Balance, 120 g x 0.1 mg (PX124/E)

For weighing active material, binder, and conductive additive in slurry formulation. 0.1 mg readability, draft shield, and a static removal bar, which earns its place in a low-humidity room where powders cling to everything.

$2,931.00

1

Scienscope SmartCam2 4K Video Inspection System (MZ7A-PK5D-4KSC-R3)

Quality inspection for battery manufacturing: check electrode coatings for pinholes and agglomerates, tab edges for burrs, and separators for damage before a defect becomes a cell failure. Captures images and takes on-screen measurements without a connected computer.

$4,624.81

$4,868.22

1

AirClean Ductless Fume Hood, 36" Polypropylene (AC3000)

Filtration-based capture with no ductwork, sized for solvent work like IPA and acetone wipe-down prep. Electrolyte handling and cell teardown can release HF and other acid gases; those need an acid-gas-rated filter or a ducted hood. Send us your chemical list before you buy.

YOUR CHECKLIST IS YOUR QUOTE

Every item you checked travels with the request, quantities included. Our team prices the exact dry room and lab build you specified, and you get one list and one quote with no re-keying.

Vendor Managed Inventory for Battery Lines

A running cell line burns through gloves, wipes, shoe covers, and IPA every shift. A stockout of any one of them stops gowning, and a stopped airlock stops production. Vendor-managed inventory and the programs below turn this checklist into standing supply.
