• What it is. These sterile cleanroom gloves are Ansell TouchNTuff 83-500, made from polyisoprene, a synthetic material that feels like natural rubber latex but contains none of its proteins. Each glove is white, powder-free, 12 inches (300 mm) long, and anatomically shaped with curved fingers, a smooth outer surface, and a beaded cuff. Ansell recommends it as an outer glove or an underglove. LabPro sells one half size per SKU, from 5.5 to 9.0, and every SKU is a case of 200 pairs.
  • Why it matters. Latex gloves can trigger Type I reactions, while plain synthetic gloves often feel stiff by the second hour of a shift. Ansell describes the 83-500 as ultra-soft with a second-skin feel that supports longer wear and less hand fatigue, and calls it ideal for double donning. The polyisoprene contains no natural rubber latex protein, which removes the risk of latex sensitization for staff who work around sterile product.
  • How it performs. Every pair is gamma irradiated at 25 kGy, giving a sterility assurance level of 10⁻⁶, and rated for Class 100 (ISO 5) and EU GMP Grade A cleanrooms. Ansell reports a typical particle count of 2,500 or fewer per square centimeter at 0.5 µm and above, tested to IEST-RP-CC005.4, and a freedom-from-holes AQL of 0.65. Wall thickness targets are about 0.21 mm at the palm, 0.23 mm at the fingers, and 0.17 mm at the cuff.
  • Materials and packing. The inside surface is polymer-coated with Ansell's DermaShield technology, and the beaded cuff uses SureFit technology. Packing is layered: one pair per inner polybag, 10 pairs per outer polybag, five of those per master polybag, and four master polybags per carton, for a total of 200 pairs. Ansell lists a five-year shelf life and Malaysia as the country of origin, and the gloves are made without natural rubber latex.

Applications / Common Uses

  • Sample taking and processing. The sterile format and low particle count suit handling work in Class 100 (ISO 5) areas, where gloves must not add contamination.
  • Transferring liquids and solids. The 12-inch length covers the wrist during transfers between vessels, tanks, and process equipment.
  • Cleanroom cleaning and preparing. The ISO 5 and Grade A rating means the same glove can be used for cleaning as for preparation steps in the room.
  • Packaging and labeling. The soft polyisoprene and curved-finger shape keep fingertip feel for fine handling over a long shift.
  • Administering drugs. Ansell lists the glove as tested for use with chemotherapy drugs and recommends it for administering drugs.

Storage, Handling & Shipping

This glove is supplied sterile and for single use, so open a pack only when you are about to wear the glove and discard it afterward. Ansell lists a five-year shelf life and asks that cartons be stored away from direct sunlight, in a cool, dry place, and away from sources of ozone or ignition.

  • Keep cartons sealed until needed, and rotate stock so you use older cartons first.
  • Store away from ozone sources such as some electrical equipment, as the data sheet advises.
  • Sterility applies to the unopened inner polybag, so do not reuse a glove or repack a pair.
  • Order by half size: each SKU holds 200 pairs of one size.
