- What it is. These sterile latex gloves are Ansell Microflex HSCE4-879, a powder-free natural rubber latex cleanroom glove supplied sterile. The hand-specific anatomical design reduces strain, and Ansell rates the glove for Class 10 (ISO 4) cleanrooms. Because it is made from natural rubber latex, it carries a latex allergy caution. The cuff is extended and beaded. LabPro lists seven sizes, 6.0 to 9.0, and each SKU includes 200 pairs.
- Why it matters. Ansell's case for the HSCE4-879 is the natural feel of latex: superb dexterity, tactility, and comfort, in a left- and right-hand shape that eases strain over a full shift. That suits handling tasks where fingertip control matters, such as transferring liquids and solids, packaging and labeling, and aseptic filling and labeling, the uses Ansell recommends. Natural rubber latex can cause allergic reactions, and Ansell states that safe use on latex-sensitized individuals has not been established.
- How it performs. Gamma irradiation at a minimum dose of 20 kGy gives each pair a sterility assurance level of 10⁻⁶, meaning no more than one non-sterile glove in a million. Ansell's product page notes testing to FTMS 101-C method 4046 and IEST-RP-CC-005.4. The glove is 12 inches (300 mm) long, with roughly 8 mil at the fingers and 6 mil at the palm. The glove is also silicone-free, with a 1.5 AQL for freedom from holes and a chlorinated interior.
- Materials and packing. Each pair sits in its own poly wallet, with one wallet per inner polybag, ten polybags per master polybag, and twenty master polybags per carton, for a total of 200 pairs. The pack is designed for aseptic donning. Every SKU is one-half size, and because the glove is natural rubber latex, keep it apart from latex-free stock so it is never issued to a sensitized worker.
Applications / Common Uses
- Transferring liquids and solids. Ansell recommends the glove for this task, where the natural latex feel and hand-specific shape support control during pouring and scooping.
- Packaging and labeling. Ansell also recommends the glove here because the dexterity and tactility of latex help with small-item handling.
- Sterile cleanroom operations. Ansell rates the glove for Class 10 (ISO 4) conditions, and the gamma sterilization gives a 10⁻⁶ sterility assurance level.
- Manufacturing facilities with sterile requirements. The glove is designed for sterile cleanroom environments and manufacturing facilities.
- Work where aseptic donning matters. The poly wallet packaging lets the wearer put the gloves on without touching the outside surface.
