FAQs
What makes UltraTape 1154 suitable for cleanrooms?
It is a polyethylene tape engineered for low outgassing and low metal content, with roughly 95% less metals and 85% less outgas weight loss than vinyl. Those properties reduce contamination in controlled environments, and its UltraClean packaging meets requirements for ISO Class 3 to 6 cleanrooms.
How does it compare to vinyl tape?
Its rubber adhesive provides a bond virtually identical to vinyl, so it performs similarly for general use and cleanroom construction while contributing far less contamination. That combination makes it an excellent drop-in alternative to vinyl tape where cleanliness and low outgassing matter.
Can the tape be written on and torn by hand?
Yes. The polyethylene backing can be written on with a cleanroom pen, which is useful for labeling, and the tape can be torn by hand, so no cutting tool is needed. It also removes cleanly, leaving no residue even after being applied for extended periods.
What widths are available?
The tape is offered in a range of widths on a 3 in plastic core, indicated by the numeric portion of each SKU. Choosing the right width helps match the tape to the task, whether narrow widths for labeling and sealing or wider widths for construction and masking in a cleanroom.
Does the tape leave residue when removed?
No. UltraTape 1154 is designed to remove cleanly and leave no residue, even after being applied for months. That makes it well suited to temporary labeling, sealing, and in-process use where clean removal is important to avoid contaminating parts or surfaces in a controlled environment.
