The exclusive, patented design allows a facility to save thousands in engineering fees by avoiding costly site approvals. The OSHPD preapproval, while intended to govern hospital installations in the state of California, is often used as the benchmark by other industries, states and regions. Metro shelving systems configured using specially designed seismic posts, base plates, and post clamps have earned an OSHPD (Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development) Preapproval for new construction in the state of California subject to the 2013 and 2016 California Building Codes. (Reference: OPM # 0426-13) MetroMax Seismic Shelving Posts are comprised of a rust-resistant epoxy coating and zinc substrate over steel. They are compatible with MetroMax i and MetroMax Q shelving and feature a patent-pending leveler bolt that eliminates the requirement to drill posts in the field. Levelers also can be adjusted before final installation of the clevis pins to level the units more quickly than conventional seismic options.
