Element Groups -IS2516

The periodic table is more than just a list of elements. The activities in this kit focus on developing a better understanding of why periodic trends occur in the elements. Students will perform two sets of experiments focusing on the alkaline earth metals and the halogens groups. The first set of experiments students search for patterns as they look at the reactivity of the alkaline earth metals. The second set of experiments form small amounts of solubilized halogen gases as a colorful way of measuring reactivity within the halogen group. Kit contains enough material for 8 groups. Teacher’s Manual and Student Study Guide copymasters are included.
